Say Cheese Roblox Endings Guide

A route-by-route guide to the photo-chain endings in Say Cheese! [STORY], with the two-ending November update and the source disagreements kept visible.

Quick answer

The current public record shows 14 endings: the 12 base endings documented through 31 October 2026, plus Off Air and Star after the 1 November update. The official Roblox page does not publish an ending total or a trigger list.

Most endings grow out of the same hat-man photo chain. Follow the shared chain first, then take the final branch in the section for the ending you want. Where recorded runs disagree on a count or target, both versions are listed rather than merged into a false certainty.

This is the Roblox story, not the puzzle games

This page covers Say Cheese! [STORY] by Mechanical Boy LLC on Roblox, place ID 100453542816833 and universe 10771871836. The experience is free, launched on 19 October 2026, and its public game record was updated on 1 November 2026. Open the official Roblox page ↗

Do not use these routes for the 40-level Steam/Xbox mouse maze, the one-player Project Genius/Eureka rolling puzzle, the Gamewright dice game, Coolmath's hidden-object game, or the itch.io visual novel. They are separate products with the same name. The online game selector separates the browser options, while the version comparison covers the main families.

How a photo becomes an ending

Every run uses the same four-part loop: choose a subject inside the viewfinder, left-click to shoot, watch the television caption the photo, and let the crowd react. You choose what is in the frame; the station chooses the red headline and the reaction that follows.

  1. Start from the menu with PLAY. If the opening broadcast is still playing, click SKIP in the upper-right corner to reach the viewfinder.
  2. Move the mouse until POINT & CLICK and the four white corner brackets frame a subject.
  3. Left-click once to broadcast that frame. The park television shows a red headline.
  4. Let the crowd react, then watch for the polaroid card. The card names the ending and gives its number.

04

The shared chain behind six endings

The recorded routes for Viral, Scared, Good, Peace, Hat, and Eyes Closed all start with the same sequence. Capture the exact facial expression or contact moment; a photo taken a second early usually produces a different headline.

  1. Photograph the man wearing the tall black hat.
  2. After other visitors copy the look, photograph any second person wearing a hat.
  3. Wait for the screaming man to yell directly into someone's face and photograph that confrontation.
  4. Follow the frightened circle visitor until she bumps into a square person and jumps back. Photograph the terrified jump.
  5. A square visitor will wear an annoyed, judgmental expression as he passes the circle. Photograph the smug face.
  6. An angry circle visitor will confront a square person. Photograph the angry shout.
  7. Continue photographing the circle-versus-square arguments as more visitors join. Do not switch to an unrelated subject between steps.
  8. Eventually the original hat man returns. The last photo from here is the branch point for several endings.

If the chain drifts, finish the current run or restart from the menu. There is no verified evidence that a missed photo permanently soft-locks the experience; one recorded guide says to wait for another opportunity, while a clean replay is the more reliable way to isolate a route.

05

Endings that do not need the full chain

Cricket — 2/14

Do not press SKIP immediately. On the title or loading screen, look below the television for the tiny cricket, move the viewfinder over it, and take a photo. One written guide says to click the jumping cricket; recorded runs photograph it. Either way, the ending card can appear almost immediately. If you miss it, replay and try again before the screen advances.

TV — 3/14

Keep the television in frame and photograph it repeatedly. The recorded versions differ on the shot count: one run describes three shots before the TV teleports, a fifth frame with four TVs, and a sixth static screen; another written route says to keep shooting until four TVs appear. Whichever sequence your build uses, watch for one normal screen among four and photograph that one. Then find the moving, glowing television in the static and photograph it again.

Recorded shot-count variant

BlaxieBACON records: photograph the TV three times, find it after the fourth-shot teleport, photograph the four-TV frame on the fifth shot, then follow the moving glowing dot in the static for the sixth. Mobile Gaming Hub describes the same destination without relying on the exact count. Do not panic if your build transitions earlier or later; use the visible TV state rather than the number.

Breaking News — 4/14

Aim at a patch of grass with no person, television, or cricket in frame and take five empty photos. If the ending card has not appeared after the fifth shot, keep watching the park: a suited man arrives and one recorded run photographs him twice before the cutscene. The blank-photo count is stable; the extra suit photos are a recovery step from that run.

Reverse — 5/14

The common description is simple: wait until at least seven people are inside the frame, then take one photo. A second recorded route first photographs a group of four or more three times, then keeps the camera on one character for three more photos until everyone turns their cameras toward you.

Use this if the seven-person photo does not trigger
  1. Play the shared chain until the crowd is arguing and moving in tight groups.
  2. Frame four or more people together and take three photos.
  3. Pick one visible character, keep the viewfinder on them, and take three more photos.
  4. The crowd should freeze and turn to face the camera. If it does not, restart rather than mixing in another ending trigger.

Follow the Money — 12/14

Photograph the hat man, then any second hat wearer. When the screaming man appears, watch the right side of the park for a man in a dark suit or black outfit. Photograph the moment he pays or meets the screaming man, then keep photographing him for about three more frames. The money handoff is the recognizable trigger; the exact wording “man in black” versus “man in suit” describes the same figure in different recordings.

06

Routes that split from the shared chain

Viral — 1/14

Follow the shared chain all the way through the escalating circle-versus-square arguments. When the original hat man returns and runs at the screaming man, photograph the fight. The ending freezes the park with the consequences: “the news found its story and the park paid for it.” This is the stable first-run route used by the walkthrough.

Scared — 6/14

Stop the shared chain after the frightened circle visitor appears. Do not photograph the jump. Let her finish the jump, wait until she looks permanently frightened, then photograph her scared face without the square that scared her in frame. Take that same frightened portrait three times. If the crowd does not draw weapons, keep following the scared character alone and photographing her while she runs; source accounts describe both the three-photo sequence and a repeated chase.

Good — 7/14

Follow the chain through the smug square, then ignore the angry circle. Find the screaming man and the couple wearing heart hats. Photograph the exact moment the couple hands a heart hat to him. Peaceful heart-hat visitors should then appear. Photograph people wearing those heart hats repeatedly — one detailed run uses ten consecutive photos — until the station goes dark. The ten-photo count is a single-source detail, not an official rule. If the heart-hat handoff never appears, restart instead of mixing in another branch.

Second recorded Good route: peaceful headlines

A separate recorded run shows a different-looking chain after the judgmental square: headlines such as “Square saves lovers” and “Local peep having a nice day” appear, followed by the station going dark for the Good ending. Because the detailed heart-hat route and the peaceful-news route are not cross-verified in one run, treat the heart-hat handoff as the primary path and use the peaceful sequence only as an observed alternative.

Peace — 8/14

Continue through the shared chain until the crowd is arguing. Look for the couple holding a sign with a heart on it near the top-right of the park. Photograph the signed couple four times. They will start a march; photograph the marching group four more times as it grows around the television. Finish with one photo of the crowd gathered around the TV. The detailed four-plus-four count comes from one recorded run; follow the visible march rather than a stopwatch.

Hat — 9/14

Play the viral chain until the original hat man returns. Do not let the attack resolve. As soon as he steps into view, photograph him repeatedly — one route uses a seven-shot sequence. When the crowd copies the hat, find the remaining person in a heart hat and photograph them, then return to the original hat man for one final photo before he can shoot the screaming man.

The other recorded Hat route
  1. Start the viral chain and allow the red people to fill the park.
  2. Photograph the hat man at the moment he returns.
  3. Keep photographing the hat wearers until the television begins saying “old news”.
  4. Photograph the couple in red heart hats, then photograph the hat man one last time.

Eyes Closed — 10/14

Follow the viral chain until the original hat man returns. Then stop photographing completely. Keep the camera off the hat man and do nothing for roughly 20–30 seconds while the park panics. The ending card should eventually appear with the line “you stopped watching and the panic had nowhere left to go.” Do not take a “reaction” photo during the wait.

Say Cheese — 11/14

Watch the visitors who turn toward the lens and say “cheese.” Photograph three of those direct-to-camera smiles. The park then breaks into a fight until one person remains standing. Photograph that final survivor to end the run. This route can be attempted from the beginning; the shared chain is not required.

07

The two endings added in November

Off Air — 13/14

Take no photos for the entire run. Let the park wait, ignore the prompts, and keep watching. The broadcast eventually goes off air and the visitors begin talking to each other. The ending is documented by a 1 November 2026 recording; the same video’s author says it required Early Access. The current access state is not confirmed.

Star — 14/14

Photograph a normal park visitor, then the man in the hat. Progress until the screaming man and the money-carrying man are both present. Look for the character who does not get scared when the screaming man yells — the recorded target is wearing a hat or sunglasses. Photograph that calm character. The news then turns them into the park’s new star. This is a single-source route; if the calm target does not appear, use the in-game STORE and ending list to check your current version rather than forcing the sequence.

08

Ending cards, counters and replaying

A completed run ends on a polaroid card. The card shows the ending number and name, a lowercase quote, the final frame, and a running X / 12 endings found counter in the older builds. The buttons are PLAY AGAIN and MENU. The 1 November recording shows the new card as “Ending 14 of 14,” but the updated counter and menu text were not independently confirmed.

  1. Note the ending name before closing the card. The main menu and ending gallery do not expose the same numbered list while you are in a run.
  2. If the card says “every ending” but the counter looks one short, click MENU and reopen the menu to refresh the aggregate count.
  3. Use PLAY AGAIN for a clean route. Mixing two endings in one run is the most common way to get an unrelated card.
  4. Do not treat an old X / 12 menu as proof that the two newer endings do not exist. The page’s update history and recorded 14/14 card are separate signals.

Public API checks on 31 October found no Roblox badges or game passes attached to the experience; progression was tracked through the ending counter and gallery. That describes the checked build, not a permanent promise about future updates.

09

Why two guides can disagree

The four routes with meaningful recorded disagreement are TV, Reverse, Scared, and Hat. The destination is agreed, but the exact count, target expression, or intermediate scene differs between authors. Treat the first route as the clean attempt, then use the alternate recorded route if the card does not arrive. A restart between attempts gives the cleanest read on which version your build uses.

  • Version. Anything published on or before 31 October 2026 cannot include Off Air or Star because those endings were documented after the 1 November update.
  • Order. The station chooses the headline; a photo of the right character at the wrong moment can advance a different storyline.
  • Counter. The polaroid counter can lag one run. Return to MENU before concluding that an ending is missing.
  • Access. Early Access may have gated the two November endings for at least some players. A public 14/14 video does not prove the current store state.
Q

Common questions

01How many endings does Say Cheese! [STORY] have?

The current public record shows 14 endings: 12 base endings plus Off Air and Star after the 1 November 2026 update. The official Roblox page does not publish a total, so this is a documented community count rather than an official list.

02Do I have to pay to get Off Air and Star?

That is still unconfirmed. A 30 October Early Access product promised two new secret endings, and one creator said they bought it for 160 Robux. A 1 November public run shows 14 of 14, but the current store availability and price were not verified. Check the in-game STORE before buying anything.

03Why is my ending not unlocking?

Match the visible action, not just the person: the jump, shout, smug face, handoff or fight must be in frame when you click. TV, Reverse, Scared and Hat also have two recorded routes. Restart cleanly and try the alternate described on this page before mixing triggers from different routes.

04Can I replay for a different ending?

Yes. The ending card provides PLAY AGAIN for a fresh run and MENU for the title screen and ending gallery. The exact key bindings beyond the on-screen camera prompts are not published; use the prompts shown in your current client.

05Is this the same as the Steam, Switch or dice Say Cheese?

No. This is the Roblox story by Mechanical Boy LLC. The Steam/Xbox and Switch releases are maze puzzle games, Project Genius/Eureka make a tabletop rolling puzzle, and Gamewright made a separate Quick Pics dice game.

06Can I play the Roblox story alone?

You can enter through the official Roblox experience without a party; the public game data lists a maximum server size of 12. That server limit is not a requirement to bring friends.
