Roblox walkthrough · first run and camera loop
Say Cheese Walkthrough: Roblox First Run
The shortest supported path from PLAY to your first ending card, plus the controls and reset habits that make the rest of the ending hunt less frustrating.
Quick answer
Open the official Roblox experience, press PLAY, skip the opening broadcast, move the mouse to aim, and left-click to photograph. Your first complete run can follow the hat-man chain to the Viral ending.
This page is for the Roblox story by Mechanical Boy LLC. It is not a level walkthrough for the separate Steam/Xbox Sokoban game, the tabletop logic puzzle, or the Gamewright dice game.
Sources checked 2 November 2026. A complete keybinding table is not published. This guide uses the on-screen camera prompts and recorded routes; the two November endings remain partly unverified.

The first session: PLAY, aim, shoot
On the initial screen, choose PLAY. The opening broadcast begins automatically. If you want to get to the viewfinder immediately, click SKIP in the upper-right corner during the “# A PERFECTLY NORMAL PARK” broadcast.
- Move the mouse across the park. The camera follows your aim.
- Wait for POINT & CLICK and four white corner brackets to appear. The brackets frame the subject that will be photographed.
- Left-click once while the subject is inside the brackets.
- Watch the television. The photo becomes a red-banner headline and the crowd reacts.
What one photo actually changes
The photograph is your input; the caption is the station’s decision. You choose who or what is inside the brackets, but the red banner headline tells the crowd what to feel and do. “# BE SCARED. BE ANGRY.” is not a menu option — it is the station’s framing of your shot.
That is why the same character can produce different consequences at different moments. For an ending route, not only who is in the frame matters; the visible action — a jump, a shout, a smug look, or a physical conflict — has to be present when you click. The ending guide maps those exact moments.
The first stable run: follow Viral
The recorded routes agree on this main line. Take the photo only when the described expression or contact is visible; moving to the next subject too quickly is the usual reason the incident does not repeat.
- Photograph the man wearing the tall black hat.
- When another visitor copies him, photograph that second hat wearer.
- Wait for the screaming man to yell directly into someone's face. Photograph the shout, not a portrait taken before it starts.
- Follow the frightened circle visitor. When she bumps into a square person and jumps back, photograph the terrified jump.
- Photograph the annoyed square visitor’s smug, judgmental expression as he passes her.
- An angry circle visitor will confront a square. Photograph the shout.
- Keep photographing the circle-versus-square arguments as more people join. Do not switch to an unrelated subject between these steps.
- When the original hat man returns and runs at the screaming man, photograph the attack. The ending card should resolve as Viral.

What to do when you miss the moment
A missed photo usually means the station aired a different headline. Do not fire random pictures to “fix” it; that can push the crowd further away from the branch you wanted. One recorded guide advises waiting for the same event to happen again. A clean restart is faster when the crowd has already split into a different storyline.
- If the target character is still present, keep the camera nearby and wait for the action to recur.
- If the crowd has moved into an unrelated conflict, finish or restart the run.
- If the viewfinder prompt disappears, wait for the scene transition; there is no verified evidence that reloading the client is necessary.
- No public source establishes a permanent missable soft-lock for every shot. Treat an apparent lock as unverified until the current build can be tested.
Play again, open the menu, keep the route clean
A completed run ends on the polaroid card. In the older builds the card shows the final frame, ending number and title, a quote, and X / 12 endings found. PLAY AGAIN starts a fresh run; MENU returns to the title screen and ending gallery.
The ending counter may record the run before the card closes. If the completion line appears while the card is still one ending short, click MENU and reopen the gallery once before assuming the ending was not saved. A 1 November recording shows “Ending 14 of 14,” but the current menu and card counter were not independently confirmed.
Use a clean run for every ending
The first run is only a starting point. The shared chain splits into several endings, and four of those have conflicting recorded routes. Pick one target, follow only its branch, and reset when the headline no longer matches the route.
The Say Cheese Roblox endings guide has the full 14-entry table, the Cricket and TV quick routes, the two new November endings, and each recorded alternate. Use this page for the controls and the first route; use that page for the collection.
12 endings or 14? Check the version first
Guides written before the 1 November 2026 update stop at 12 endings. The new public run shows Off Air and Star and an Ending 14 of 14 card. An Early Access developer product created on 30 October described “Unlock 2 new secret endings” at R$199, while one creator said they paid 160 Robux. The supplied evidence does not establish whether those endings are now freely available.
Check the in-game STORE and your ENDINGS menu before paying for anything. A public video showing 14/14 does not prove that every account currently receives the two newer endings for free.
Common questions
01Do I need a Roblox account to play Say Cheese! [STORY]?
Yes. This is a Roblox experience, so use Roblox's supported web or client entry with your account. The experience itself is free; Roblox account and platform requirements still apply.
02Can I play this walkthrough solo?
Yes. The camera loop is a solo story interaction. The public game data lists a 12-player server maximum, but you do not need a party to take photos or reach an ending.
03Should I press SKIP at the beginning?
Press SKIP only if you want to skip the opening broadcast and start aiming. If you miss the button, wait for the viewfinder to activate. The on-screen prompt is the reliable signal.
04Why did I get a different ending?
The station decides the headline, and the exact action in frame changes the branch. A portrait of the right person is not enough: the jump, shout, smug face, handoff or fight must be visible. Restart cleanly and follow one route at a time.
05How long does one run take?
No verified run time is published. The camera events depend on how quickly the crowd reaches the next state, so a fixed minute count would be invented. Follow the visible prompts rather than a timer.
